Course Expectations

I hope to get from this class a better understanding of how to use the technologies that can be beneficial to my future students. I have always felt that technology could be very helpful with some students (especially in the field of special education) because it allows them to look at things differently. Hopefully, in this class, though, I will learn more specific information about how to help my students by using technology. I would also like to learn about programs that are not only helpful to my students but also to me as a teacher. The idea of using technology to help create lesson plans and organize materials is very interesting to me. I have taken a lot of computer courses that taught me how to use programs such as excel, powerpoint, and word, though, so I hope that this class will teach me something new (and more interesting)! :)

Introduction ot the Class

Informal Introduction to Class:
I was born and raised in Jamestown, Tennessee. I went to Alvin C. York Institute, and I am the first in my family to go to college. I love to travel, but have never really gotten the opportunity to do it much. I hope one day to be able to go to Europe and explore. I am going to be certified to teach both special education and elementary education when I graduate, but I am unsure which one I prefer to teach at this point. I have known for sure since I was in elementary school, though, that I wanted to be a teacher. I have taken a couple computer classes, but have rarely worked with more than word and powerpoint in them. I have learned a lot more about computers through experience.
